Clontarf Historical Society - “The History of Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club” by Ian Sargent

Clontarf Historical Society evening lecture presenting the “History of Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club” by Ian Sargent, honorary secretary of the club. The club, one of the oldest yacht clubs in the country, was founded in 1875 at a time when the area was about to undergo significant change. Along with Clontarf Cricket Club and Clontarf Rugby Club, with which it was closely associated in the 19th and early 20th century, it is one of the institutions that gives Clontarf its special character. The club has also invited everyone to complimentary tea/coffee etc afterwards. Lecture at 8.15pm in Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club, Clontarf Road. An entrance fee of €4 to individual talks applies to non-members.
