Our member Lindy Taylor will be the first speaker of the 2022 season of our Public Talks, co-hosted with Raheny Library.
Lindy's talk is entitled "The Coming of the Huguenots - a Refugee Crisis" .
Dublin has welcomed many waves of refugees through the centuries.  Among them were the Huguenots, French Protestants who fled persecution in Catholic France in the 17th Century. Lindy will talk us through the various Huguenot congregations who have lived in Dublin and their contribution to the shaping of Dublin into the city of today.
Lindy Taylor has a degree in Humanities, majoring in History, and has worked as a tour guide in Dublin for over 10 years. She has done extensive research on the Huguenot population in Dublin. She is a long-standing member of the Raheny Heritage Society and currently serves on our committee.
This will be an online talk over Zoom. Registration is via Eventbrite.
